Before You Book Checklist
Ensure you have all the necessary documents and certificates before scheduling your appointment to avoid being turned away.
Learner License
You must present an original, unexpired learner license or permit. Applicants under 18 must have held for 6 months prior to the test date, ensuring full compliance with state law and driving safety regulations.
Completion Certificates
Bring your original DE-964 (teens) or ADE-1317 (adults) course certificate. For teen applicants, this certificate must be titled "For Driver License Only". Please ensure that both your classroom completion date and behind-the-wheel completion date are fully filled out and signed.
ITD Certificate
Printed copy of your Impact Texas Drivers certificate. Must be dated within 90 days of your test.
Registered Vehicle
A clean, safe vehicle with current registration and inspection. rentals available if needed.
Proof of Insurance
Current insurance card for the vehicle you'll be using for the test. Electronic or printed copies accepted.
Parent/Guardian Presence
If you're under 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present to sign required documents at the time of your test.

Adult Driver Road Test Process
Adults ages 18 and up may need to complete the 6-hour Texas Adult Driver Education course. After successfully finishing the course and receiving your certificate, you can book your road test when you're ready. We provide the support you need to pass with confidence.
